There is a particular Sydney pleasure in swimming while the city works — the Lodge's infinity pool runs its 50-metre edge toward Darling Harbour from the podium level, heated year-round and reserved for residents, with a cabana program that has become the summer's quiet institution.
The Two Tiers of the Deck
Fourteen cabanas arrange the deck in two registers: the waterline row — curtained daybeds for two metres from the edge — and the VIP tier above it, where each cabana carries a private jacuzzi, a screen, a fridge and a dedicated attendant for parties up to six.
Between them, shaded daybeds and the pool bar cover the middle distance; the deck's design keeps sightlines open so the harbour does the entertaining while the team does the rest.
A cabana should feel like a hotel room that happens to be outdoors — set before you arrive, cleared after you leave.

Chilled towels arrive on the hour without being asked. Facial mist and SPF live on the stand beside the fruit tower. The attendant button summons the grill menu — lobster rolls, kingfish tacos, the frozen cocktails the deck is known for — and the check-in ritual is a walk-in, not a wait.

The Hours That Matter
Dawn laps before 09:00 keep the lanes to swimmers alone; family hours run mornings until eleven; and from 22:00 the pool can be booked privately — lanterns, towels and a lifeguard — for the midnight swim the city does not advertise.
Booking the Season
Summer weekends release sixty days out and go quickly — the VIP row first, then the waterline. The concierge holds a small allocation for villa guests; if the deck is full, the spa day package covers the same ground with a quieter footprint.

- Book VIP row for groups — the jacuzzi changes the day entirely.
- Aqua yoga runs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 06:30.
- Ask for the floating breakfast the evening before — the kitchen plates it at 07:00.
